Why we love it
Pomegranate is a joy in a sunny courtyard, with glossy leaves and bright, crumpled flowers through summer.
After a long, hot summer it can produce fruit, and its yellow autumn foliage gives a final flourish.
How to use it
Plant against a sunny wall, in a sheltered courtyard or in a large container on a terrace for a Mediterranean feel.
Planting and aftercare
Plant in spring in a warm, sheltered, sunny position with free-draining soil. In containers, use a peat-free, gritty compost and water regularly in summer. Protect young plants from hard frost.
