Why we love it
Ginkgo has barely changed in 200 million years, and its fan-shaped leaves are unlike anything else in the garden.
In autumn it turns a clear, glowing yellow, and it copes with heat, drought and city air, making it a great tree for a changing climate.
How to use it
Use it as a feature tree in town and country gardens alike. It is slow-growing, so it suits gardens of many sizes for years to come.
Planting and aftercare
Plant between autumn and spring in a sunny spot and water through the first two summers. Very little pruning is needed.
