Why we love it
'Tai Haku' has some of the largest flowers of any cherry, pure white and beautifully set off by the coppery new leaves.
After its spring show it gives a second display in autumn, as the leaves turn warm shades of orange and gold.
How to use it
Give it room as a statement tree on a lawn, at the end of a view or in a spring garden underplanted with bulbs.
Planting and aftercare
Plant between autumn and spring and water well through the first two summers. Prune cherries only in summer, in dry weather, to reduce the risk of disease; very little pruning is usually needed.
See it in person
