Why we love it
Beech has some of the most beautiful bark of any native tree, smooth and silvery like elephant skin, and as a multi-stem the effect is multiplied.
Its spring leaves are a translucent, glowing green, deepening through summer before turning rich copper in autumn.
How to use it
Give it space as a feature tree in larger gardens or parkland, or pair it with beech hedging for a cohesive, classic scheme.
Planting and aftercare
Plant between autumn and spring into free-draining soil and water through the first two summers. Prune in late summer or winter if needed.
