Why we love it
The wild cherry is one of our most beautiful native trees, white with blossom in April and glowing red and orange in autumn.
Its flowers feed early bees and its fruit feeds birds, making it a brilliant choice for wildlife-friendly gardens.
How to use it
Plant in larger gardens, woodland edges and naturalistic schemes, or as part of native planting.
Planting and aftercare
Plant between autumn and spring and water well through the first two summers. Prune cherries only in summer, in dry weather, to reduce the risk of disease; very little pruning is usually needed.
