How we measure and specify our trees →

Why we love it

Few trees have bark as beautiful as the Tibetan cherry. The stems shine like polished wood, and as the old bark peels away, fresh copper and red tones are revealed beneath.

Multi-stem specimens show off the bark from every angle, making this a showpiece through the darker months.

How to use it

Plant it where low winter sun can catch the stems: beside a path, near a window or as a focal point in a courtyard. Underplant with snowdrops, hellebores or dark-leaved groundcover to set off the bark.

Planting and aftercare

Plant between autumn and spring and water well through the first two summers. Prune only in summer if needed, as cherries are best cut in dry weather. Gently rubbing the stems keeps the bark polished.
