Why we love it
The Kentucky coffee tree has some of the largest leaves of any hardy tree, giving a light, almost tropical canopy.
In winter its thick, sparse branches create a striking silhouette.
How to use it
A collector’s tree for larger gardens and parkland.
Planting and aftercare
Plant between autumn and spring and water well through the first two summers. Prune lightly in late winter to remove crossing stems and reveal the structure.
