Why we love it
The Scots pine’s warm, coppery bark glows in low sun, and its open crown becomes more picturesque with age.
It is native, long-lived and valuable for wildlife.
How to use it
Plant as a specimen or in groups in larger gardens, heathland and naturalistic schemes.
Planting and aftercare
Plant between autumn and spring into free-draining soil and water well through the first two summers. Pines need very little pruning; remove any damaged branches in late winter.
