Why we love it
'Carrierei' is one of the best thorns for gardens, with glossy leaves that often hang on into winter alongside its bright berries.
It is compact, wind-tolerant and copes with urban conditions.
How to use it
A great choice for smaller gardens, streets, exposed sites and wildlife-friendly planting.
Planting and aftercare
Plant between autumn and spring, stake securely and water well through the first two summers. Prune in winter while dormant to remove crossing or damaged branches and keep a balanced crown.
