Hedging – Deciduous

DECIDUOUS HEDGING

With leaves that fall in autumn, deciduous hedging makes a dynamic boundary, offering hedge screening that adapts to the seasons. There are many options of deciduous hedging plants for a range of styles, formal or informal. In winter, enjoy a delicate tracery of branches; in spring, emerging foliage and possibly flowers; in summer, developed foliage gives maximum hedging protection; while, in autumn, turning leaves reflect the passing year.

Deciduous hedging is permeable – especially in winter – to light and air, and easy to blend with existing planting. It may sit better in the landscape than evergreen choices; plus, if a mix of plants is used, there can be a real boost to wildlife.
